Almost Baby Time!

tomorrow is our official due date for baby smick! we are so excited we can't wait to meet our little girl. as of yesterday i was still not dialated so maybe she is going to hide out a little longer or maybe she will surprise us and come right on time.

since the last time i wrote we have moved into our new house. we love it and really are enjoying the extra space and nice neighborhood. the new house has been keeping us busy, unpacking, taking care of a lawn, and getting ready for baby.

pretty soon our lives will be changed forever but we are looking very forward to becoming parents. we can't wait for her to be here so we can introduce her to everyone!

33 weeks and 6 days

Tomorrow I will begin my 34th week of pregnancy. I am really feeling the weight and pressure on my body, so I have been quite uncomfortable at work this week. Thankfully everyone has been so helpful and supportive at work so I haven't had to do too much walking down those long halls.

Tomorrow is my last day of school, for a year, I feel so lucky to be able to take a whole year off from work to stay home with our baby. I am sure it will be a lot of work too but it will be well worth it!

We are still house hunting and waiting for the townhouse to close so that we can feel more confident about making a decision on which house we will pick to call home! We have appreciated all the support that living with my parents have brought but we are also anxious to have our own space again especially with our baby on the way!

Dr. Hyde says her head is down already so that is good! We have also began birthing classes 2 weeks ago. Between work, house hunting, and birthing classes we have been super busy!

Chicago

We took a short trip to Chicago this weekend for Natalie's graduation, now she is officially Dr. Lam! We had a great time and the weather cooperated for the most part. While we were in Chicago we had to have Chicago style deep dish pizza--YUM! We also saw The Jersey Boys musical, it was very entertaining but a little noisy, BabySmick was probably wondering what was going on! We did some other touristy things like the Chicago River tour and went to the Lincoln Park Zoo. Here are some pictures from our trip...

27 weeks and 5 days

We had our 28th week appointment today, the ultrasound showed that our little baby girl is 2 lbs 4 oz. We got to see her little feet and hands, and a nice profile too. Everything else seems to be going well with my pregnancy. I had to drink the glucose drink before my appointment today and have my blood drawn, good thing the lady was good and I only got poked once. That's all for now...we are going to be heading off to Natalie's graduation next Fri. in Chicago. It should be fun!

Babymoon at the Salish Lodge

We spent the weekend at the Salish Lodge. It was nice to get away and the weather was beautiful! Our room was cozy, with it's very own wood burning fireplace-of course Erich has to light it up, so we had a roaring fire. We had a relaxing time out there and watched a beautiful sunset. This morning we woke up and had a leisurely breakfast in a small room with only four other tables near the windows outlooking the falls. Now we are refreshed and ready for our work week to begin...well I wish I could have one more day :) It's always hard to go back to work after a week off. 48 days of school left!

24th week check up

We had our 24th week appointment with Dr. Hyde on Friday. Everything is going well, we will have our next appointment at 28 weeks. We'll have an ultrasound so it's always fun to see our little baby growing bigger each time.

Spring Break!

I'm so glad it's Spring Break, I get a week off from work to relax and get some things done. I have been feeling great this trimester. There are only 48 more days of school this year, so not too much longer to go!

Everyone is so excited to meet Baby Smick, including us! We have been given such cute baby clothes, hand knit booties, and toys by family and friends, our baby girl is going to be so loved by everyone-thank you! I've been feeling the baby move a lot more now, it's so amazing. We also listen to Baby Einstein music, which I think she likes.

Hopefully we will sell the townhouse soon so that we can start putting together a nursery at our new house before the baby comes and while I still have the energy. Erich is doing great too, he continues to be supportive and helpful. We are trying to take walks on the weekends if the weather is nice. It won't be too long before it's not just the two of us anymore, so we are trying to find time to spend together between working, eating, and sleeping (which I do a lot of).

We have a doctor's appointment on Friday the 11th so I will update again soon!
