Girly, girl!

Emi was exploring with the chapstick, she likes to pretend to use my lip gloss with the cap on of course...this time with the chapstick she knew how to get the cap off. It was rolled down so Idon't think she got much but it's so funny listening to her!

Excuse the mess on her shirt...Emi is self feeding herself yogurt now and obviously the bib wasn't doing a good job ;)

Our little reader

Emi plopped down near her book baskets this morning while I got her breakfast ready...looks like she will be reading her books from the Hello Kitty series, that's my girl!

We visited Spokane to visit Great Grandma Maxine and the rest of the Smick family! Emi was a better traveler this year and had a lot of fun visiting with everyone too!

Last swim class at Kinderswimmer

Daddy joined Emi for her last swim class today. She was a great swimmer today and loved that Daddy was in the pool with her. Today's class was a little different since Halloween is coming up, there was an octopus that Emi was not too fond of in the pool!
Emi thought it was SO funny when Daddy went under water and popped back up!

We're going to miss our swimming pal JT, that just means we'll have to schedule playdates to keep in touch!

Grandpa gets his baby back!

Grandpa's car has been in the shop for a few months for an engine rebuild so he has been without his baby for quite sometime. Today he got it back and he drove it over for Emi to check out. I found these pictures and video on my camera when I got home... Vroom, vroom! How fast does this thing go?

Emi and JT

On Monday JT's Mom Becky came over and taught me how to sew a blanket! I am happy with the way it turned out considering I haven't really picked out fabric, cut, ironed, and sewed something before :) Thank you Becky for your patience and time!
Becky and I were so focused on our sewing that we didn't get pictures of JT and Emi playing together! We will have to have you guys over again, it was so fun being crafty. Here is a picture of Emi and JT after swimming, they look like little penguins all wrapped up!

Emi and her two study pals!

Josh, Jake and Emi are all sitting at the table working together, it's so sweet! I love how gentle and caring the boys are with Emi. This week Jake and I were learning about JFK, and Josh continues to practice his letters and sounds, as well as his drawing. Fun times! You can see how happy the boys make Emi, she has a very happy smile on her face!

Love!

Erich has been getting home 15-20 minutes earlier a few nights this week and that may not seem like a lot of time to most people but it makes a difference in what we have time for after dinner! We enjoyed reading to Emi after dinner and playing last night with having to rush...unfortunately none of the pictures that we took turned out very well. We hope that Daddy surprises us and comes home a little early more often!

Busy, busy!

I feel like we have been getting busier and busier these days and I am not posting or taking pictures as often as I used to! Lately our weeks have been filled with Monday-time with grandma and grandpa, Tuesday with Asher, Wednesday with swimming (which will be ending this month until we find a new place) we will miss Kinderswimmer but can't dedicate two days a week to swimming. Emi had floats on for the first time last week and she did great, she even went down the slide! She has no fear of the water which is so great and she always has fun! We have 3 more sessions this month and then we will try a new place, still looking for the right place. Thursday and Friday mornings I tutor, soooooo when the weekend rolls around we are busy going to the farm, which is ending this month too and doing all the other fun family stuff we enjoy! I have to say I can't imagine what it would be like to have another child to add to this balancing act, but I guess it will just bring on more joy and fun memories! Not that we are expecting anytime soon but recently I have just been so exhausted and busy with just Emi and Erich that I can't imagine how crazy/busy life will be with one more!

I just thought I should write a little something to remind me what we have been doing so when I look back I will remember why the blog updates and pictures have slowed down...I am getting ready to post our fun trip to the Children's Museum from Monday...it was so much FUN-you'll see :)

Carrie's Pre-Birthday Cake

Emi did not look happy about the cake, maybe because it had walnuts in it and she couldn't have any :(

My parents and sisters came over to celebrate my upcoming birthday! We had a yummy cake for dessert! Thanks everyone!
