Keeping Cool Like it's Going Out of Style!

We are so happy the sun is finally out, but it has been a little hot to be outside for too long. This week Emi's done a lot of things inside and outside to keep her busy!

The first hot day Emi explored the other side of the backyard...

Yesterday she helped me with the recycle, she took everything out, one by one! She was very happy to help!

Random Things

Lately while I make meals Emi likes to be in the kitchen with me. This evening she decided it would be a good idea to put towels in plastic bags and line them up at the fire place. Of course this task could not be accomplished with out mama's red flats!






Emi has been retreating to her own private reading area after dinner time, we are so glad she enjoys reading!
Can't I get any privacy around here? Mommy follows me everywhere with that camera!

Magnifying Glass

Emi found this giant magnifying glass that I used to have in my classroom...she thought it was pretty funny to smash her face on it and make funny faces.

Emi and Avery!

We love visiting little Avery and Auntie Maureen! Emi LOVES Avery and was very gentle and sweet with her. At one point while Avery was in her swing Emi brought Avery toys and books to keep her entertained while Auntie Maureen and I ate a quick lunch. Can't wait to watch the girls grow up together!

Uncle Justin's 16th Birthday!

We celebrated Justin's 16th birthday at Yea's Wok. We had a great meal and yummy cake! Happy Birthday Uncle Justin!

Zoo!

Daddy took Emi to the zoo on Sunday while Mommy went out with her sisters. It was a great day for the zoo, it looks like they saw a lot of animals and had a fun time! Emi has a book called Zoo Train! from Kindermusik and she loves the book even more after this recent trip to the zoo!

Lucky Penny!

Emi found a lucky penny in the wood chips at the park this evening. She was very worried that it would not stay in her pocket so she kept checking and switching the penny from pocket to pocket.

Sabrina's 3rd Birthday Party

Emi had so much fun at Sabrina's 3rd birthday party! I didn't get a chance to take a picture of Emi and Sabrina together but Sabrina had a great party for all her friends and family! Thanks for a fun party Uncle Mike, Auntie Joyce, Sabrina and Michaela!

Alligator and Skirt Steak

We had our friend George over to grill some yummy food this weekend. He brought alligator, skirt steak (which you see here), shrimp and scallops (which you don't see because we ate then up as soon as they came off the grill!) and some other goodies! It was the perfect day to sit outside and enjoy time with an old friend. Emi napped almost the whole time, but she did wake up in time to try some alligator, it tasted like chicken but a little tougher. Thanks George!

Sprinkler

Last weekend Erich did some yard work and turned the sprinklers on for the first time this season. Emi noticed the water spraying out and decided to get closer to check it out! She thought they were pretty funny and liked getting a little wet.
