The Day Before...

The day before Kenzi was born I was scheduled to have a procedure done before the induction to help me dilate in case I wasn't already 3 cm dilated. I really was not looking forward to the procedure so we were trying to do as much walking as possible. Erich had the day off and the morning before my appointment we took a nice long walk on the Soaring Eagle Trail in our neighborhood. It was a beautiful walk and I just happened to find 2 four leaf clovers. I think they brought me good luck because I ended up not needing the procedure as I dilated on my own.


We ran out of battery on the camera so there's not a picture of me.

Kenzi Elizabeth's Birthday!

Kenzi was born 2.16.2011 @1:24pm. Erich and I arrived at the hospital for the induction appointment at 5am. After settling in a little bit I started getting pitocin to help my labor progress. At around 10am is when my labor really began to pick up and not too long after Kenzi was born! The delivery went smoothly and we were so happy to finally have Kenzi here! A few hours later when I tried to get up, I fainted and had some issues with bleeding but nothing compared last time with Emi. Thankfully everything worked out and we were able to come home yesterday.

Emi came to the hospital to meet her little sister, she fell in love instantly and wanted to hold her and kiss her.

Valentine's Day!

Usually Erich and I make each other cards but I guess we both thought we'd get each other a little something this year. I got Erich some soothing licorice and peppermint tea and he got me these neat flower frames and put pictures of us in them.

Exciting News!!!

I am going to be a real auntie! Auntie Jeanie and Uncle Marc are expecting their first little baby early September. They told us while we were all together to celebrate our parents' 33rd anniversary. We are all SO happy and excited for them to become parents!



Emi can't wait to have a cousin!

I wish I would have thought to take a picture with Jeanie, we were both pregnant at the same time for about 5 days until Kenzi arrived...darn!

Emi @ 2 1/2

Emi is so funny when I asked her how old she is she tells me 6 months, and then she says that Kenzi is 2 minutes old.

Well I was hoping that Kenzi would be born on 2/11 so that the girls could be exactly 2 1/2 years apart but I am still sitting here with a baby bump...

Here are some pictures of Emi at 2 1/2 years of life. We couldn't be happier for this healthy and happy little girl, she makes us laugh and keeps us going!

Play Dough

Emi got some Clementine play dough from Nathan for Christmas, it's naturally non toxic and it smells so good! I thought since she had fun using cookie cutters when we made cookies a few weeks ago that she would enjoy playing with the play dough and she did! This activity has kept her busy while I do some of my own projects or cook dinner. Busy girl = productive mama!

Swimming with Gung Gung!

Emi LOVES swimming and it's been a while since she's been to a pool. Gung Gung was so happy to be able to take Emi swimming on his day off today and Emi absolutely LOVED being in the water today. Thank you Gung Gung!

Emi's First Haircut at the Salon

Emi and I visited Gung Gung and Po Po at their salon last week. I got my hair cut and had a nice foot soak. Emi had her toes painted and declined when Po Po asked if she wanted a hair cut but agreed when Gung Gung asked!

After our pampering we enjoyed a yummy sushi lunch with Gung Gung and Po Po. Thank you for a lovely morning!

Before

39 weeks and 3 Days...

We had a prenatal appointment last night and it doesn't seem like she's ready to come out yet. My due date is Friday and I have an appointment scheduled for Tuesday the 8th. Dr. Hyde says we'll probably be induced on the 16th if she doesn't come on her own...let's hope she comes before then!!!

I haven't posted any pictures of Kenzi's room, we need to hang up some pictures and I need to finish the curtain (which I am planning on doing right after this post).
