Apple Eating!

Emi likes to eat apples like Dadddy. Trader Joe's has these great small gala apples that are perfect (size and not too hard) for Emi to hold and bite into. She's pretty good about finishing them, and she thinks it's pretty cool to be able to eat a whole apple! Here is Emi being a little cheese ball while enjoying her apple.

Coffee with Brando!

We met Auntie Jaime and Brando at Starbucks this morning. Emi and Brando shared a scone. Brando also shared his puzzles with Emi. It was nice to chat with Jaime over coffee but when the tots got restless we decided to take a walk in QFC. Jaime and Brando saw a mouse in the store while we were outside doing a diaper change! After we explored the newly remodeled QFC we saw a fire truck in the parking lot. Brando and Emi both got to sit inside and check out the hoses and switches on the outside. Our last adventure (that was more of a let down...) was to stop and visit this horse that Emi and I had driven past 2 times last week. I told Jaime that the horse walks right up to the fence and we can get a really good look at it! Well, when we got to the horse, it starred at us and then laid down! Oh well, we still had a great morning of fun with our friends!

Emi also out on my shoes instead of hers, she's getting pretty good with slipping on her Merrells but Mommy's shoes are more fun!

I found this picture and forgot to post it earlier. To try to catch a few more zzz's on the weekends Emi gets to come into bed with us if she wakes up after 5am. I couldn't sleep in anymore and here is what I woke up to!

Gum Drop Ottoman

Here it is! My first gum drop ottoman. I refused to spend $50+ dollars on the poly-fil stuffing so I use old sheets, old t-shirts, old baby blankets that were going to be donated...I think I could make it more plump if I find more stuffing around the house. This one is 18" the next one will be 24" so I will be looking for more stuffing! If anyone has old sheets or old cotton t-shirts you don't use/need anymore I could take them off your hands :)

Sunday at Po Po and Gung Gung's

Po Po and Gung Gung surprised Emi with a table and chair set, just for fun! Now she has somewhere to sit and read books. Thanks!
Auntie Jeanie was visiting too. Emi asked Auntie Jeanie to help her with find a pen to use at her new table.

Coat Rack!

Erich completed his coat rack project last weekend! It's so nice to have a place to hang out coats right when we enter from the garage, good work Erich! I think we need more hooks :)

Take out...

Since Erich has injured his knee Emi and I were trying to stay out of the house this morning so that Erich could work from home without being disturbed. Emi and I went to visit a preschool (which was really great!) and then we went to story time at the library (which we don't usually get to go to because we are usually at Asher's house on Tuesdays) after all that we stopped to eat lunch at Shanghi Gardens.

Emi enjoyed the left noodles for dinner straight from the box...for some reason they didn't taste as good when I had them on the plate.

Blankets

Thanks to my Mom's sewing machine and my friend Becky who gave me a sewing lesson a while back I sewed these two blankets solo! They turned out nice, of course they aren't totally perfect but they survived a washing so that means hopefully they aren't going to fall apart :)

Next I am going to make some gum drop ottomans, these two blankets were like a warm up project for the ottomans...hope they turn out so that I can post them on the blog.

A Ride in the Bike Trailer...

Erich took Emi on a short ride in the bike trailer this morning. It has been a while since Emi has been in the trailer, before her helmet wasn't as snug and she wasn't too excited about it...now I think she will enjoy a longer ride. Too bad Erich has hurt his knee, it will be a while now before he is able to take Emi for a ride again.

Projects

So we've lived in our house for almost 2 years and Erich and I are just getting to some decorating projects. I just finished painting the back splash with chalk board paint and here it is...

Hello Kitty

As many of you know I am a huge fan of Hello Kitty, so that means Emi is too :)
It's so fun to watch Emi play in the evenings, she is beginning to play pretend and imitate things that we do.
